Island Hospice & Healthcare (Island) was established in 1979 as the first hospice in Africa. Island is a registered Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO# W.O 27/9) with branches in Bulawayo, Harare, Marondera and Mutare. The organization provides quality palliative and bereavement care to patients facing life threatening illnesses (such as HIV, cancer and dementia) and their families to reduce suffering and pain and improve quality of life. In 2017 Island Hospice & Healthcare was chosen by the World Health Organization to be evaluated to be a demonstration site for Africa.
The Wild is Life Trust is home to a number of elephant, lion, cheetah, ground pangolin, kudu, giraffe, wildebeest, sable, impala, duiker, tortoise and monkeys. The population is dynamic and where possible, the Trust will release suitable animals back into larger habitats. No animals are bought or sold at Wild is Life Trust.
Makomborero Zimbabwe is a local Zimbabwean Trust set up by Mark and Laura Albertyn to serve their vision for helping low income families access A-level education and further their studies, seeing lives and families changed forever. Makomborero Zimbabwe is a small trust which was set up in 2011.
Friends of Hwange was formed on the back of the extreme drought of 2005 that severely affected Hwange National Park. The National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority of Zimbabwe, plagued by lack of funding and a decrease in tourist arrivals, did not have the funds to keep enough borehole pumps going. As a result, only a handful of waterholes had water and countless animals died.
The Twala Trust Animal Sanctuary is a Non-profit organization based just outside Harare in Zimbabwe. The Trust is run by Sarah Carter and resident veterinarian Dr Vinay Ramlaul, together with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. The focus of Twala is to provide a nurturing and safe haven for animals and birds in need.
SHAI childhood cancer foundation was founded as an organization based from a place of personal experience. This lived experience helped the trustees to realise the needs and the plight of mothers and their children who stay on the ward, often for many weeks at a time awaiting treatment. In order to support these families and help them have the strength and courage to fight childhood cancer, SHAI was formed.

ZOL Zimbabwe provided internet services for this year’s Enactus Event in Zimbabwe. Enactus is housed under the BOOST Fellowship and has been an operational program for them since 2004.
